Fur Baby

Zoe is my fur baby. She was the second best Christmas gift of 2011 (first best being my fiancé). She was adopted on December 22, 2011 and Sam gave her to me that evening when we exchanged presents. I was soooo happy that little grey kitten from PetSmart was mine!

Yes, it's blurry. Probably because Sam knew he was going to ask me to marry him 10 minutes after this was taken, so his hands were shaking really badly. ;) awwe.

Zoe was originally born in September of 2011 and dropped off at a Dollar General parking lot in North Georgia with her brothers and sisters. She was picked up by CATS and they named her Belinda. She was the runt and the last to be adopted. Her first family named her Zoe (good taste) and then returned her to CATS at the end of November because she "made the small dog they owned cry" -- I promise I am not making this up. She was then relished on PetFinder and taken to several Petmart showings, which is where we saw her. And I fell in love with her. Actually, she picked us. When we back to see her the second time, she was gone and I cried in Petsmart like a 5 year old. No joke.

But my sweet boyfriend called the lady the next day and got her info and told her he wanted her. YAY! He saved her!

So here we are today...

Zoe is my baby girl, my best furry friend. My cuddle buddy.

And occasionally a crazy cat with her silliness and kitty grand prix she runs by herself through our entire house while sounding like she weighs 400lbs.

But we can all be a little crazy sometimes, right?

She likes to be loved on, on her terms, and prefers me over Sam, unless he has been home with her more, then she will always pick his lap to lie on while we snuggle on the sofa.

She is enjoying the Catkins Diet because on Christmas Eve 2012 we found out she liked eating a little too much. But this was good news to her because she LOVES canned food. And mommy HATES the smell. Ah the things we do for those we love...

Speaking of doing things, anytime I am sewing, she winds up in my life. I made her a stocking a few weeks ago, and she decided to help. CUTENESS OVERLOAD.

She gets jealous easily (this scares me because when we have human children she will not be a happy camper I am afraid) and she really hates Morpheus, our neighbor's outdoor cat that I was feeding before I knew it had a home, because he sits on our porch and stares at her. And she hates soft kitty that Sam got me. I mean seriously, look at her face:

And look at her face in this one, because it is hilarious... or scary:

Anyway, she keeps me company while Sam is away at Law School, and sleeps with me when he is at the firehall. She makes sure to always face the door so she can be prepared for... I don't really know. Probably so she can run out the door as they come in. But anyway...

This is Zoe, our 9 lb 6 oz (but not for long, remember she is on Catkins Diet) little furball of joy!

Oh Zoe, I love you so much you crazy cute little kitty and am blessed in some way by something you do, every single day! :)
